In February 2016, Scottsdale-based Classic Hotels & Resorts acquired the FireSky Resort & Spa in Old Town Scottsdale for $62.5M.

The hospitality company has now announced what it plans to do with the resort, which will consist of a $15M two-phase renovation and rebranding.

The former FireSky Resort & Spa at 4925 N. Scottsdale Road will become The Scott Resort & Spa.

Classic Hotels & Resorts will invest the $15M million into two phases: the first phase will undertake upgrades and renovations of the lobby, the Lobby Bar and, the two pools and the 14KSF of meeting space. The 204 guest rooms will be renovated in the second phase, and a presidential suite, as well as four one-bedroom suites will be added.

Classic Hotels & Resorts bought the Arizona Grand Resort in 2006 and spent $65M in renovations, and after buying the Biltmore in 1992 and renovating the property, the company sold its interests for $350M, making it the largest hotel transaction in Arizona history.
